Avesco Group plc, the international provider of services to the corporate presentation, entertainment and broadcast markets, announces its interim results for the half year ended 31 March 2009.

Presteigne Charter has been contracted by SIS LIVE, Europe’s largest OB and uplink provider, to supply a flypack to facilitate eight of the Grand Prix races for the BBC’s F1 coverage. The races, consisting of Australia, Malaysia, China, Bahrain, Singapore, Japan, Brazil and Abu Dhabi provide many broadcasting challenges and with many of these races being back to back, this provides a logistical challenge of its own, moving the equipment from location to location.

For the past five years the team at Presteigne Charter have been at the helm of the annual Oxford v Cambridge Boat Race live broadcast, providing wireless camera systems for the coverage of the event televised by ITVSport.

Project managed by Jason Naismith, Senior RF Engineer at Presteigne Charter, the experience of the ten strong team once again proved infallible as the tried and tested deployment of technology and staff enabled seamless coverage from camera to television.

Creative Technology Shanghai provided the HD content management and playback system for the massive 4,000m LED screen that was a central feature of director Zhang Yimou’s extravagant Opening Ceremony for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games at the Bird’s Nest Stadium on 8th August.

A warm summer evening saw MCL Edinburgh providing LED screen IMAG facilities and a three camera / graphics mix outside broadcast solution to this year’s hottest ticket concert in the annual Edinburgh Castle series of outdoor events.

Utilising the castle esplanade as a rock venue before the Edinburgh military tattoo takes its yearly residency, the promoters have this year brought Edinburgh’s favourite twins back home for a concert which sold out in record time.

Fountain Studios, the largest purpose-built production studio in the UK, has so far invested £1.1million to upgrade its cameras and vision mixers to HD. The equipment installation, including ten Sony HDC1500 HD cameras, a Sony MVS 8000G video switcher, a Pro Bel router and Ikegami monitors, was completed in September.
