Previously he worked for KPMG for 33 years. From 1996 to 1998 he was Comptroller to Diana, Princess of Wales. From 1998 until December 2003 he was Finance Director, then Chief Operating Officer of Singer & Friedlander Group PLC.

He has overall executive responsibility for the Group and its strategic development. He is a non-executive Director of Ascot Underwriting Ltd and Forest Support Services plc and was previously Managing Director of the Brockbank Group Plc, an insurance company operating in the Lloyds market and a director of Admiral Insurance.
